Geoffrey C. Hauck

Chief Investment Officer & Principal

Geoff Hauck joined Van Cleef in 2008, following 10 years as a portfolio manager with the Large-Cap Growth team at AllianceBernstein. Geoff began his investment career at National City Bank, spending 12 years working with families, trusts and estates. Geoff is a former Trustee of the Cleveland Zoological Society and the Evans Scholars Foundation. Geoff received a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and earned an M.B.A from Case Western Reserve University.

Martin J. Burke, Jr.

Portfolio Manager & Principal

Marty Burke, Jr. joined Van Cleef in 2008 as a portfolio manager and Principal. Prior to joining Van Cleef, Mr. Burke spent seven years with National City as both Portfolio Manager and Client Advisor, leading a team of investment professionals. After starting a business in college, Mr. Burke spent his early career in client relations and sales. Marty has served as a board member and Finance Chair for the Cleveland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, and as the Chairman of the Beaumont High School Investment Committee. Currently, he serves as a board member, and on the investment committee, for The Brentwood Foundation. Mr. Burke earned a B.A. in English Literature from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, an M.B.A. from John Carroll University, and the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation.

Lino Sergo

Director of Research & Principal

Lino Sergo is the Director of Research for Van Cleef. Mr. Sergo joined the firm in 2000 after graduating from John Carroll University, and subsequently earned his M.B.A. from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Sergo started his investment career at John Carroll where he was the President of the Dornam Fund during his senior year. In addition to his research responsibilities, Lino is Co-Chair of the Investment Committee which oversees the management of both the Target and Yield Growth portfolios.

Michelle A. Borelli

Trading Mgr./Chief Compliance Officer

Michelle Borelli joined Van Cleef in 2009 as the Trading Manager and Chief Compliance Officer. Michelle spent five years as the Trading Manager and Associate Portfolio Manager for the Large-Cap Growth team at AllianceBernstein. Michelle has worked in the investment management field since 2000 and spent the previous 13 years as a Property & Casualty Insurance Agent specializing in Private Aircraft Insurance.

Diane Berry

Client Service Manager

Diane Berry joined Van Cleef in 2007 and maintains oversight of client administration and day-to-day operations. Ms. Berry joined Van Cleef from Case Western Reserve School of Law where she spent three years in the office of development. Previously, Diane spent 23 years with Key Bank in a variety of roles, most recently in the Retirement Services division.

Emma Bresnahan

Client Service Manager

Emma Bresnahan joined Van Cleef in 2024 and maintains oversight of client administration and general operations. Emma has performed several client-focused roles throughout her career and joined Van Cleef from a real estate company where she worked in operations and marketing. Emma is a member of the Rocky River Women’s Association and has previously chaired the Adopt-a-Family initiative.

Martin J. Burke

Portfolio Manager

Marty Burke joined Van Cleef in 1993. Mr. Burke specializes in portfolio and relationship management. Mr. Burke’s business career began at Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young) and continued for several years in management positions with two privately-owned manufacturing companies. Prior to joining Van Cleef, Marty spent 17 years with both the Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and Merrill Lynch Private Client Group. Mr. Burke received his B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from John Carroll University.
